What Is ISO 18587:2018?
ISO 18587:2018 is the international standard for post-editing machine translation output (Machine Translation Post-Editing – MTPE), meaning the review and correction of text produced by machine translation systems by a human specialist.
The standard sets out the requirements for the full post-editing process and the competences and qualifications of post-editors, so that the final text reaches a level comparable to human translation in accuracy, clarity and terminology consistency.
And What About ISO 17100:2015?
ISO 17100:2015 is the international standard for translation service requirements. It covers the work stages from translation to revision by a second reviser, the qualifications of translators and revisers, and project management and the confidentiality of client data.
